Bill Armstrong, class of 1972
Bill, class of 1972, and his wife, Gina, class of 1973,and their three children all graduated from Beatrice High School. In addition, Gina taught elementary school from 1999 to 2014 with Beatrice Public Schools. All were successful in the classroom and several on the athletic field. Their children are Joseph, class of 2000; Adria, class of 2004; and Alicia, class of 2012. Joe’s wife, Manalle graduated in 2002.
“My family and I all received excellent educations from Beatrice Public Schools. The Beatrice Educational Foundation’s support helps to continue the excellence of educating our youth to prepare them for their future endeavors in life,” said Bill Armstrong.
Bill Armstrong served on the Board of Directors and currently works as a Customer Service Representative for Beatrice Concrete but his passion was for service to his hometown. After graduating from Beatrice High School in 1972 and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1976 he returned to Beatrice. In 2012-13 he was on the House of Orange Athletic Complex Planning Committee. He also served two terms as BHS Athletic Booster Club president.
Armstrong was also active in providing opportunities for young athletes including being a youth sports coach in soccer, basketball, and softball. This included taking teams to the Cornhusker State Games. He was instrumental in founding the YMCA youth soccer program and served as the coordinator from 1994 to 1997 when it grew to include 550 participants. He served on the YMCA Board of Directors from 1995 to 1997.
