Scholarships
The Beatrice Educational Foundation seeks to support the students and staff of Beatrice Public Schools through scholarships, teacher grants and an after-school program that is free to students that qualify for free and reduced lunches.
The goal of the after-school program is to provide all attendees with enrichment activities that focus on science, technology, engineering and math. Time is also given for homework help and a snack. The Working Wednesdays Project is an example of providing students with hands on activities that explore how things work in Beatrice including the water system, lawn mowers and radar guns.
Scholarships are awarded each April to graduating seniors. These scholarships are funded through the generosity of individuals. Currently only a small percentage of students receive scholarships. Your support would allow us to increase the number of scholarships we award each year.
Teacher Grants
Grants are awarded to teachers to purchase items which will enhance the quality of
classroom instruction. The requests often revolve around technology. Your support would allow us to increase these grants and help us provide a 21st century education to Beatrice students.
The scholarships and grants awarded annually by the Beatrice Educational Foundation are made possible from gifts received from individuals and businesses. We would invite you to consider joining with us in growing our efforts to better serve Beatrice and the educational efforts we make annually to fund these activities.
BLAST
The after-school program is held at each of the three elementary sites and serves over 100 students. While some of the funding for the program comes from a 21st Century Grant, your support allows us to provide additional educational opportunities including field trips during the summer school program. For example, students learned about the zoo and then visited the Lincoln Zoo thanks to a generous donation.
